The original BMW battery with AGM technology (Absorbant Glass Mat) is a high-performance component in the vehicle. It is supplied ready for installation and offers a number of technical innovations. The battery is filled with sulphuric acid, which is 100% bound in mats made of glass fiber fleece. When current is drawn, the current flows, as usual, from the negative to the positive electrode. Compared to calcium batteries, original BMW batteries with AGM technology are twice as fast in terms of current consumption and output. BMW models that have already been equipped with AGM technology ex works also require a battery with AGM technology when the battery is replaced.
