Waterproofing agent

Description

This waterproofing agent is suitable for textiles, smooth and suede leather, as well as motorcycle suits, boots, and gloves. The ultra-thin protective film does not affect the fabric’s appearance, texture, or breathability. The unique formula was developed specifically for BMW and enables water- and oil-repellent re-waterproofing of large textile surfaces made of natural and synthetic fibers. The waterproofing agent coats the fibers with an invisible monomolecular film that repels water. Once opened, containers should be used up promptly. Application: The fabric to be treated must be clean and dry before applying the water-repellent. If necessary, clean the fabric, taking care to rinse off any detergent containing surfactants as thoroughly as possible with clean water, as these can impair the water-repellent effect. Spray the waterproofing spray evenly onto the fabric to be treated until it is completely wetted but not too damp. If treating in sections, ensure that the sprayed areas overlap. Then allow it to dry completely (approx. 5–10 minutes at 20 °C). To check the protective effect, drip a small amount of water onto the fabric: if the drops do not bead up on the fabric, the treatment must be repeated. If a white residue is visible after drying due to overapplication, simply brush it off. Test the fabric for colorfastness on an inconspicuous area before use.
