Description

In addition to charging conventional lead-acid batteries and maintenance-free batteries (gel/AGM), the high-quality BMW Motorrad Battery Charger Plus also allows fully automatic, microprocessor-controlled charging and maintenance of all original BMW Motorrad lithium-ion starter batteries with 12 V and a capacity of 6 to 60 Ah. -Can be used for all BMW Motorrad motorcycle batteries. Process-controlled charging and charge retention. -Easy charging via 12 V socket or adapter cable. -Allows batteries to be charged and discharged, e.g. during the winter (protection against harmful deep discharge). Details: High-quality, microprocessor-controlled charging and charge retention device for 12 V motorcycle batteries. -Suitable for: -Lead-acid batteries with open cells, lead-acid batteries with closed cells (maintenance-free cell batteries (gel or AGM) and lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePo4)) with capacities between 6 - 60 Ah. -Also for BMW motorcycles with CAN bus technology. -Charging via motorcycle socket or alternatively, with the enclosed adapter cable, directly at the battery terminals of the motorcycle battery. -Fully automatic according to the charging pressure characteristics stored in the microprocessor. -The device can remain connected to the vehicle or battery over a long period of time. Charging cycles are carried out, the battery is monitored and recharged if necessary. -Charging current reduction at low temperatures. -Dimensionally stable plastic housing. -Text output on the display: Indication of the battery charge status and activities in the charger. Technology in detail: -Due to the different designs of lithium batteries, the charging curve for the batteries must be matched to the exact specification. -The BMW Motorrad Battery Charger Plus has a specially adapted charging curve for the original BMW Motorrad lithium-ion starter batteries. -This charging curve differs from charging curves for lead batteries and other lithium batteries in different voltage ranges (final charge voltage, final discharge voltage and state of charge). -Charging lithium batteries with an unsuitable charger can damage or even destroy the battery. -The charger has also been adapted in the following points: -Voltage limits for recharging -State of charge detection -Treatment of deeply discharged batteries -adapted charge retention -Ambient temperature monitoring and corresponding charge control -Testing and reaction to sulphation
