Discharge adapter

Description

In conjunction with a bidirectional BMW electric vehicle - starting with the BMW iX3 and future Gen6 BEV models (see vehicle designation, page 4) - the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter enables the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function. Your BMW can thus be used flexibly as a mobile energy storage system: it can not only absorb energy, but also release it again later - at home or on the road. Please note: The special equipment (SA4U6) AC Charging Professional (22 kW Onboard Charger) is a prerequisite for using the discharging functionality. -Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): Use your vehicle as a mobile power bank to operate or charge electrical devices with up to 3.7 kW. -Maximum flexibility: The V2L function reliably supplies electrical devices with energy wherever you are and makes you independent of external power sources. -Variability: The V2L function can be used in many areas: traveling, camping, entertainment, outdoor activities, sports, leisure activities with friends and family and much more. -Independence: No additional generator is required. -The vehicle can provide power on the road or in remote locations. -Ruggedness: The housing is compact, robust, dust- and splash-proof. -Operator comfort: The robustly manufactured, ergonomically shaped adapter is comfortable to hold. -The Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter was developed in accordance with BMW Group quality standards and international norms. -Do not use this device if it is damaged in any way and contact support or your dealer. -On the supplied Safety Guide you will find the QR code that leads to the operating instructions. -1-phase: Voltage line to neutral: 220 V to 240 V -maximum current: 10 A to 16 A -maximum power: 3.0 kW to 3.7 kW -Frequency: 50/60 Hz (The rating is adjusted based on actual use in combination with different adapters) Humidity: 2 % to 95 % relative humidity, non-condensing -Operating temperature: - 40 °C to + 50 °C -Storage temperature: - 40 °C to + 70 °C -IP54 (dust cover fully closed) -IP20 (usage status) Commissioning: -To use the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter, first open the dust cover on the vehicle connection side of the adapter. Then connect the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter to the vehicle's charging socket. -When connecting for the first time: Follow the instructions on the central display in the vehicle to select your country of destination. -Then connect the desired electrical device to the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter. The discharging process starts automatically. After use: -To end the unloading process, unlock the vehicle using the vehicle key and the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter using the charging cable unlock button. Then remove the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter from the vehicle's charging socket. Then disconnect the connected electrical device from the adapter and store the adapter properly. -The Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter is equipped with coding, which automatically sets the maximum charging power for the adapter used. -Compatible with Gen6 BMW BEV charging sockets in the Type 1 and Type 2 variants. Safety note -Read the information carefully and look at the device to familiarize yourself with it before putting it into operation. Only use the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter to discharge your vehicle. -Do not remove any markings such as safety signs, warnings, labels or cable markings. -Do not insert your fingers into the plug or socket. -Never use a power cable that is defective, worn, dirty or has damaged insulation. -Do not use the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter if the socket (outlet) and/or the housing are damaged. -Do not make any unauthorized changes or modifications to the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter. -Do not remove the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter during the discharging process. -Do not use the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter to operate extension cables, cable reels, multiple sockets or similar. -Keep the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter away from water and snow. -Make sure that the contact surface is not near heat sources, dirt, water or snow. -Do not drop the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter. -Do not drive over the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter. -Check the performance rating of the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter before connecting a desired load. -Only use devices and accessories that are suitable for the voltage and current rating of the adapter. -Children should be supervised when the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter is near them when connected. -Do not use the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter if the household plug is not fully inserted into the adapter slot.
