Wallbox Plus (Gen 4)

Description

The Wallbox Plus is a home charging station for all Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV). The charging station for your home. With the permanently installed Wallbox Plus, your electric vehicle charges quickly, reliably, and conveniently at up to 22 kW. In addition to its compact design in BMW or MINI styling, the Wallbox Plus also features convenient cable management. To ensure that the Wallbox operates safely and reliably, it must be installed and connected by a qualified electrician. Depending on the country, applicable country-specific regulations must be observed and complied with during installation. Applicable to all fully and partially electric vehicles from the BMW Group and vehicles that comply with the IEC 61851-1 2017 standard or newer. The connection voltage for Europe is: 230 V, 230/400 V 3N. -Safe and fast charging: Compared to the Flexible Fast Charger with household adapter supplied with the vehicle, the Wallbox achieves a significantly shorter charging time (see also “Notes”). -Easy operation and convenient cable management: The cable can be hung on the cable holder, and there is also a plug holder. -Design and function: The Wallbox is space-saving and compact in size and made of robust, weather-resistant materials for indoor and outdoor use. -Cost-effective installation: DC fault detection is already integrated into the wallbox, thereby contributing to significant savings on installation costs. -Plug & Play: When the plug is connected to the vehicle, the charging process starts automatically without requiring any further steps. -RFID Access Control: Using the included RFID cards, you can optionally decide who can use the wallbox. -Smart load management: The Wallbox’s charging power dynamically adjusts to the household’s remaining energy consumption, thereby preventing an overload at the grid connection point (*when used with a smart meter). -Connected Home Charging Services: Compatible with CHCS, enabling solar- and load-optimized charging as well as Wallbox management via the MY BMW app. * -In the event of a malfunction, customer service can be contacted through the BMW Group Connected Drive Call Center—the perfect one-stop service. -The Wallbox Plus was developed for 3-phase charging. Safety: -All installed components are certified to international standards and tested by the BMW Group. -The BMW Group, in collaboration with a partner, offers professional installation by a licensed electrician. -The Wallbox provides a high level of safety across countries by meeting all country-specific requirements as well as electrical protection class IP65 and mechanical protection class IK09. -The Wallbox includes all safety modules necessary for safe and reliable vehicle charging. Functionality: -The Wallbox can be connected to the home electrical system flexibly and easily. -Vehicle pre-conditioning: The temperature inside the vehicle can be preset. In the morning, the customer will find their vehicle fully charged and already preheated or pre-cooled. The energy required for this is supplied by the Wallbox while the vehicle is connected, thereby saving energy during the drive—to maximize range. -The Wallbox’s status is indicated by an LED bar on the front of the unit. Thanks to this display on the Wallbox, the customer can always keep an eye on the current charging status, even from a distance. -With the Wallbox Installation App, the Wallbox can be kept up to date, a variety of settings can be adjusted, and the current device status can be checked at any time. Additionally, the app provides information and troubleshooting tips. Notes: -*The BMW Wallbox Plus will be available starting in December 2023 for select markets as part of a smart Connected Home Charging Package through our market-specific partners. In addition to the BMW Wallbox Plus, the package will include a smart meter for using the BMW Connected Home Charging Services as well as a full-service installation of all necessary components. -*Use is only possible with a BMW xEV, a BMW ID account, and the My BMW app: The service must be renewed on a market-specific basis in the BMW Connected Drive Store. Technical requirements: Purchase, professional installation, and setup of all necessary components (see Wallbox manual). -Since hybrid and electric vehicles are designed for specific charging capacities, charging speeds vary depending on the vehicle. -IEC variant (International Electrotechnical Commission): To ensure that the Wallbox operates safely and reliably within the home electrical circuit, it must be installed and connected by a qualified electrician. -Depending on the country, country-specific regulations regarding the connection must be observed and complied with.
