The retrofit kit trailer coupling with electrically swiveling ball head corresponds to the standard special equipment trailer coupling (SA 3AC). The trailer coupling is suitable for trailer loads of up to 2,400 kg and a drawbar load of up to 100 kg (depending on the engine). After installation, the retrofit kit must be added to the vehicle order by coding. A special feature compared to the competition is the trailer stability control: the vehicle's standard DSC dynamic control system takes into account the special conditions of driving with a trailer and thus increases safety. For this reason, retrofitting is always accompanied by coding of the control electronics by the dealer. It also has the effect of deactivating any electronic parking aid when reverse gear is engaged in trailer mode. The trailer stability control is a system integrated in the DSC and is activated via the socket at the rear.

If no part number is shown for the special equipment trailer device, the "fan frame with fan" does not have to be replaced If the fan needs to be replaced, remove the corresponding module and the power distributor from the BTE of the ETK. For some motor variants, it may be necessary to replace the thermal insulation. With SA715, the rear cladding does not need to be replaced. If it is not necessary to replace the "fan frame with fan", the "electric fan repair cable set" does not need to be ordered in conjunction.
