Description

The Wallbox Connect is a home charging station for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV). This allows you to charge your vehicle safely, quickly and independently at home. The wallbox was developed taking into account numerous customer requirements and the experience of the first generation of wallboxes. Attention was also paid to design, material, safety and sustainable production. -RFID recognition: The built-in chip card reader enables a maximum of 3 vehicles (3 cards) to be connected to the Wallbox Connect. The integrated lock function only allows charging after authentication with a paired card. -Charging management: The charging energy is regulated using an external electricity meter (not included) to ensure the maximum available charging current and at the same time prevent an overload in the domestic grid. -The intelligent charging of the wallbox is possible with additional digital charging services, such as the use of the cheapest electricity until the next journey. -The Wallbox Connect can be controlled with a smartphone via an app (iOS, Android). -Connecting the Wallbox Connect to smart home systems guarantees full integration into the household. You can find an overview of currently compatible smart home systems on the BMW i service page for charging products. -You can use the recorded charging history to display all relevant data in the app. -Convenient and simple integration into the home network, such as a connection to the home solar system. -Compared to the OUC basic cable supplied with the vehicle, the wallbox achieves up to 6 times the charging speed. -DC fault detection is already integrated in the Wallbox Connect and therefore contributes to significant savings in installation costs. -Maximum charging convenience: The cable is wound and unwound around the Wallbox Connect, so there is no need to bend down. -Plug & Play: When the plug is connected to the vehicle, charging starts automatically without any further operating steps being necessary (if the RFID card reader is deactivated). Design and material: -The ergonomic and high-quality design is characterized by selected, high-quality and environmentally friendly materials. The housing contains recycled material and is made of durable plastic. The high-quality multi-layer coating of the outer parts meets the highest demands. It protects the wallbox permanently and contributes to a harmonious appearance with the vehicle. -Weather resistance: The wallbox can be permanently mounted both inside and outside. Safety: -All installed components are certified according to international standards and tested by the BMW Group. -All-in-one service: You can take advantage of professional advice from employees, the installation service and the BMW Group hotline. -Together with a partner (Deutsche Telekom Technischer Service GmbH), the BMW Group offers expert installation by an electrician. -The installation of the BMW i Wallbox Connect is not without danger. An incorrect procedure can also result in damage to the BMW i Wallbox. It is therefore essential that you have the installation, initial commissioning and maintenance of the BMW i Wallbox carried out by appropriately trained, qualified and authorized electricians. Only then will the warranty be fully valid. If the installation is carried out without authorization or by another service provider, BMW (i) accepts no liability in the event of damage. -A voucher is required for the installation. The wallbox offers a high level of safety across all countries by meeting all country-specific requirements, as well as electrical protection class IP54 and mechanical protection class IK08. -The wallbox contains all safety modules for safe and reliable charging of the vehicle. Sustainable production: -A supplier with certification for sustainable production in the field of electric vehicle charging is responsible for the development of the wallbox. -Sustainable mobility: The environmentally conscious image of electric vehicles is transferred to the drivers. Comparison with the competition: -The all-in-one installation service ensures professional and expert installation of the wallbox at your location. The service team will advise you on all matters relating to the correct charging of the electric vehicle, the handling and positioning of the wallbox, as well as the best parking position for the electric vehicle. Customer service can be called via the Mobile Service in the event of a fault - the perfect one-stop service. -The Wallbox Connect was developed for 3-phase charging. -Depending on market availability, the Wallbox Connect can be connected to the BMW Group's Digital Charging Service (DCS). This can be used, for example, for intelligent charging plan calculation or billing of energy costs. Functionality: -The energy meter for load management must be ordered separately. A list of possible meters can be found in the installation instructions. -Remote software updates are possible in conjunction with DCS. -The wallbox can be flexibly and easily connected to the home network. The wallbox supports the vehicle-specific "time-controlled charging" function. This makes it possible to charge vehicles exclusively at certain times and thus take advantage of particularly favorable electricity rates, for example. Pre-air conditioning of the vehicle: The temperature in the vehicle can be preset. You will find your charged and pre-heated or pre-cooled vehicle in the morning. The energy required for this is provided via the wallbox when the vehicle is connected and is thus saved during the journey - to maximize the range. -The status display of the wallbox is shown by an LED bar on the front of the wallbox. The display on the wallbox allows you to keep an eye on the current charging status at all times, even from a distance.
