It fits perfectly into the trunk of the respective vehicle, prevents cargo from sliding around, and effectively prevents damage and dirt. Since sustainability at BMW is viewed holistically—bringing together economy, ecology, and society, we have worked with our internal and external partners to develop a sustainable material for the trunk liners that offers the same properties as existing materials but reduces the carbon footprint by 45% per kg. The material used in the sustainable trunk mats consists of 25% Seaplastic (e.g., fiber-reinforced plastics in the form of fishing nets, trawl nets, and ropes from ports, net makers, and plastic collectors) and 30% PCR (post-consumer recycled material) sourced from Europe. After sorting, fractionating, shredding, washing, and separating, this waste is compounded and processed into new sustainable raw materials. -The trunk liner was developed specifically for each vehicle and therefore fits 100% perfectly. -The high-quality, sustainable material is slip-resistant and waterproof. -The raised edge prevents liquids from spilling out. -Effective protection of the trunk helps preserve the vehicle’s value. -Tested according to the BMW Group’s strict standards regarding interior emissions and odor formation. -The use of recycled materials is a unique selling point of this custom-fit trunk mat. -Exceptionally durable thanks to its thick material and high-quality craftsmanship. -Material: Plastic containing 55% recycled content
