Slip-On Line

Description

With an unmistakable sound when shifting through the gears, coupled with improved power and torque, all integrated into a full titanium system, the Slip-On Line exhaust system in titanium offers the true Akrapovič experience while complying with ECE type approval. Made from lightweight high-quality titanium alloys and finished with two sets of carbon/titanium tailpipes, the system features complex parts manufactured in the in-house titanium foundry, including the valve bodies and the collector between the center muffler and the tailpipes. Two valves - one on each side of the silencer - adjust the gas flow to create the unmistakable Akrapovič sound, which differs significantly from that of the X5M with the standard system. The sound of the exhaust system is most noticeable during gear changes and acceleration. With the optional Akrapovič Sound Kit, this can be further controlled and the listening pleasure improved. Akrapovič has measured a power increase of 12.1 hp at 2,400 rpm and a torque increase of 35.4 Nm at 2,400 rpm in a comparative test on the Akrapovič test bench with a BMW X5M with a standard M Sport exhaust system. It is also possible to further tune the exhaust system by adding the optional Evolution Link Pipe Set made of titanium. Using the link pipe set changes the gas flow and elicits the best possible sound from the titanium Slip-On Line system. In addition, Akrapovič has designed accessories to emphasize the beautiful finish of the system tailpipes. A handcrafted carbon diffuser in matt and gloss finish can add a special touch to the visual experience. After installation of the Evolution Link Pipe Set, the ECE type approval of the Slip-On-Line exhaust system made of titanium is no longer valid; reprogramming of the control unit is mandatory with this installation. After installation of the Akrapovič Sound Kit, the ECE type approval of the titanium Slip-On-Line exhaust system is no longer valid. The ECE type approval certificate is not valid for vehicles without a gasoline particulate filter. To install the Slip-On system, the standard exhaust system must be cut off.
