M Performance antenna cover

Description

The antenna cover made of aramid fiber-reinforced plastic is a visual and functional highlight on the vehicle roof. Due to the extreme visual similarity between aramid fiber and carbon fiber, this product completes the "carbon" look of vehicles with a carbon package or other carbon exterior components. As aramid has a high permeability for electromagnetic waves, the functionality of the antenna is maintained. Carbon, on the other hand, has a shielding effect and cannot be used for antenna cladding. -The innovative material enables full functionality with a sporty, carbon-like look. -The antenna cover rounds off the carbon exterior portfolio perfectly. The aramid antenna cover is particularly durable and corrosion-resistant. Material: -Aramid" is the term BMW uses for the aramid fiber-reinforced plastic used for special accessory exterior components, similar to the term "carbon" for carbon fiber-reinforced plastic. Aramid is a high-quality fiber composite material that is very similar to carbon fiber in terms of its appearance and processing. In contrast to carbon, the components made from it have a high electromagnetic permeability. -Aramid has a lower density than carbon and is therefore slightly lighter than carbon. -Until now, aramid fibers have been used mainly in rallying (underbody protection) or sailing (carbon-aramid hybrid sails) or in ballistic protection for bulletproof vests or armored vehicles.
