The difference compared to conventional brake discs is that the compound brake discs on the front axle are equipped with a radial plain bearing for the brake disc rings. This "floating" bearing system allows free thermal expansion of the brake disk ring. The compound brake discs may only be fitted in conjunction with aluminum wheels (including complete winter wheels)! The front brake discs are marked to indicate that steel wheels must not be fitted. In the event of a breakdown, the emergency wheel can be fitted, as it can be assumed that the vehicle will only be driven at a moderate speed (max. 80 km/h) to the next service station. The perforated brake disks may only be installed in pairs on one axle. Simultaneous installation on the front and rear axles is recommended, as the brake pad wear is coordinated! -Improved appearance. -Underlines the sportiness, especially with alloy wheels with an open wheel design. -Lower weight, therefore lower unsprung masses. -Developed by BMW M GmbH as a special accessory. -Technically adapted for 330i, 330d, 330 Cd, 330Ci, 330xi, 330xd with standard 17-inch brake system. -Perforated compound brake discs on the front axle as on the BMW M3. -Perforated standard brake discs on the rear axle. -The brake callipers and brake pads are the same as standard. -Not available off the production line.
