The electronic logbook from BMW is characterized by its simple operation in the vehicle. A unit invisibly installed in the vehicle stores all relevant data and transmits it to a small key fob. All you have to do in the vehicle is select the type of journey (business, journey to work, private) by pressing a button. The PC readout unit reads the key fob and stores the data in a database. On the PC, the start and destination points of each journey can be displayed on a map - with map material from D / A / CH - and the address is automatically assigned. The percentage distribution between private and business trips can be checked. The logbook can be printed out for the tax office directly from the PC program. By keeping a logbook and submitting it to the tax office, the actual proportion of private use can be conclusively proven. Instead of a flat-rate taxation ("one regulation"), an individually calculated monetary value of the private use is determined. This usually results in a much lower amount than the flat-rate 1% taxation.
