Description
From the racetrack straight onto the road. The lightweight sports exhaust system made entirely of titanium produces a rich, powerful sound. It was specially developed for the 5 Series M models. Visually, the two 92 mm twin tailpipes made of polished titanium with the M logo give the vehicle an unmistakable and striking appearance. The perforated inner pipes display a maximum of high-tech, sportiness and emphasize the individual character traits of the BMW M. The optimized exhaust routing with reduced back pressure enhances the characterful V8 Twin Turbo sound and underlines the sporty driving experience. The silencer system was developed using the latest CAD and FEM technology and is a cooperation project between BMW and Akrapovic. This ensures optimum fitting accuracy and manufacturer quality. The silencer system can be installed simply by screwing it into place, welding is not necessary. Lightweight: The titanium silencer system is 28% (10 kg) lighter than the standard component. Due to the material properties of titanium, the tailpipe covers turn yellowish/blue with increasing temperature stress.
