Slip-On Line

Description

This product is made entirely of high-quality titanium and has special parts such as two flaps, one for each side of the silencer, and two acoustic reflectors. The housing of the flaps and the collectors are cast in the in-house titanium foundry. There are two tailpipe designs to choose from: either the groundbreaking octagonal shape, as first seen on the exhaust system for the BMW M3/M4, or the more traditional and classic design. Both tailpipes are fitted with handcrafted carbon outer covers. Thanks to the use of lightweight materials, the exhaust system is 7.3 kg lighter (32.7 % less weight) than the standard system. Power is increased by 3.9 kW (5.3 hp) at 2,800 rpm and a torque increase of 13.5 Nm at 2,800 rpm was recorded in a test on the Akrapovič test bench compared to a BMW M2 Coupé with a standard exhaust system. The exhaust system has been developed to provide a unique driving experience. Together with the most advanced Akrapovič control kit - designed to deliver an exceptional sound experience - the system with its flaps and acoustic reflectors provides a smooth, rich sound during normal driving and a deep, sporty sound when the M2 Coupé is driven more dynamically and enthusiastically. ECU remapping is not required and the exhaust system meets the ECE type approval requirements for the BMW M2 Coupé (G87) with OPF filter. Optional linkpipes and downpipes have been developed for use on closed racetracks, as has the optional Akrapovič sound kit. With the installation of these options, the ECE type approval of the Slip-On Line (Titanium) is no longer required. The Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust system is EC/ECE type-approved for vehicles equipped with a gasoline particulate filter. The Tail Pipe Set (Carbon) must be ordered separately.
