Retrofit kit, M carbon-ceramic brake
BMW
Item No.: 10009988
Manufacturer No.: 34112358378
The new original carbon-ceramic brake is a technology from motor racing. The use of the high-tech materials carbon and ceramic increases the thermal load capacity even in extreme situations, e.g. on the race track. The weight reduction of the brake disc has a positive effect on fuel consumption and the agility of the M vehicle. Thanks to its long service life, it even slows down wear. Depending on the situation, the carbon-ceramic brake offers a further increase in active safety compared to the M compound brake. The brake callipers are painted gold as a visual distinguishing feature. - The sportiness of the vehicle is underlined by its attractive appearance. Especially with light alloy wheels with an open wheel design. - New type of carbon fiber composite ceramic: this makes the brake discs significantly more wear-resistant and means they need to be replaced much less frequently. - Even more direct/spontaneous application of braking force under extremely high loads thanks to high and stable coefficient of friction. - Maximum heat resistance even under continuous sporting use. - 60 % lighter than conventional brake discs: The reduced unsprung masses reduce the weight of the chassis and improve the road contact of the wheels. Weight reduction of rotating wheel masses by 13.50 kg. - More precise modulation of braking power and increased agility when cornering thanks to reduced mass moments of inertia. - Even greater resistance to diminishing braking effect due to high thermal load (fading) than with the 6-piston fixed calliper brake fitted as standard, also with internally ventilated and perforated cast brake discs. - High corrosion resistance of the material and therefore a longer service life for the brake discs. - The BMW carbon-ceramic brake was designed and tested according to internal requirements. The retrofit kit complies with SA 2NK (M carbon-ceramic brake) and is coding-relevant.
