Description
The Shift Assistant Pro allows upshifts and downshifts in almost all load and speed ranges without using the clutch or accelerator. The assistant thus ensures noticeably reduced shift times, less strain on the clutch hand and therefore greater comfort and dynamics. -Shift Assistant Pro for comfortable and dynamic gear changes -World first in series motorcycle construction -Originally developed for racing, the function of the shift assistant has been expanded and adapted for use in the touring sector -enables upshifting and downshifting without clutch or throttle operation in almost all load and speed ranges -Advantages: More comfort with simultaneous dynamics -70-80% of all gear changes during a journey can be carried out without the clutch -reduced shifting time compared to shifting with clutch actuation -Less movement between driver and passenger thanks to shorter shift pauses -Gears are engaged as usual using foot force on the gearshift There is no shift assistance in the following situations: -shifting with the clutch engaged -Upshifting with the throttle closed (overrun mode) or when decelerating -shift lever is not in initial position when shifting up or down -Downshifting with the throttle open is supported, but can lead to strong load change reactions, especially in low gears -When riding constantly in low gears at high engine speeds, shifting without clutch actuation can lead to strong load change reactions. BMW Motorrad recommends shifting only with clutch actuation in these riding situations. The use of the shift assistant in the speed limiter range should be avoided.
